This is not a history of the team. What it is are heartful essays on certain events, players, and emotions of the team as related by an ordinary Browns fan. Huler is just a fan, and he relates what it means to be a fan of the Cleveland Browns very well.

From the Browns first-ever victory in 1946 and their first NFL championship in 1950 to the great teams led by Jim Brown in the 1960's and the exploits of the Kardiac Kids in the late 1970s and the early '80's, nearly all of the key moments of their first 40+ seasons are chronicled. Sketches of the 14 greatest Browns players, those who are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, are also included.
